FIFTH GRADE TEACHERS

Kevin Coffey

Entering this new school year, I am so fortunate to be back here at Hidden Hills.  I am excited to again be a part of such a caring, dedicated, and incredible group of students, parents, staff, and community.

I have a two year old son and a new daughter on the way, and love spending family time with my wife and son, including hiking, biking, and any time we are privileged enough to see the Red Wings or Cubs visit the Bay Area.  I am originally from Washington (state), and have lived in the East Bay for the past ten years.  I received both my undergraduate degree and teaching credential from St. Mary’s College in nearby Moraga.

I look forward to working with my students as they journey to become well-rounded individuals, critical thinkers, and life-long learners.  It is my goal to encourage each of my students recognize the positive impact they each can have on their community, both locally and globally, and to inspire them to achieve that potential.

The Hidden Hills students, staff, families and community are delightful and I look forward to another amazing year! This is my second year at Hidden Hills. Prior to that, I taught 5th grade in Fremont at Warm Springs Elementary School for four years. I live in San Ramon with my husband, Jamie, and our two children.

I am a tri-valley native, growing up in Pleasanton and then attending Ohlone Junior College. I completed my BA in Education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and from there moved to Chicago. In Chicago, I went into outside sales with a large corporation which eventually moved Jamie and I back to San Ramon in 1998. In 2000, I went back to school at night to complete the credential program at Chapman College in Concord and the rest is history!

I love my new home at Hidden Hills and look forward to a fabulous year growing and learning socially, emotionally, and academically.

I was born on the East Coast, but grew up here in San Ramon, a place that I am proud to call home. After high school, I moved to San Francisco to attend San Francisco State University, where I received both my Bachelor’s degree and my teaching credential. I have been teaching in the Bay Area for ten years. I am thrilled to be a part of the Hidden Hills community. I am honored to work with such an amazing staff, and such dedicated students and parents.

It is my belief that all students will become life long learners, equipped with the most effective skills that will enable him or her to work cooperatively and independently as the opportunities arise. I believe in providing all students with an opportunity to learn and be successful. I believe in providing all students with the opportunity to learn in an atmosphere that allows them to celebrate their unique talents, and allows them to challenge themselves and take risks in a safe and comfortable environment.

I am extremely excited to be joining the Hidden Hills staff! I look forward to an amazing year of getting to know everyone. This will be my first year at Hidden Hills and my third year teaching elementary school. Last year I taught 5th grade at Walt Disney Elementary.

I was born and raised in Palo Alto and received my B.A. at UC Santa Cruz. I received my teaching credential from Concordia University in Irvine, California. I look forward to working with all of my students this year. It is my goal and hope for all students to be life-long learners who truly enjoy seeking and gaining knowledge.
