OVERVIEW:

Hidden Hills Elementary School is a suburban K-5 school located 35 miles east of San Francisco in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. HHES opened in August 2004 as the second developer built school in the Dougherty Valley of San Ramon. HHES is a state of the art facility with a shared school/community park with extensive play structures and an expansive play field. Currently enrollment is 738. Since continued housing development is expected, HHES is undergoing a $4 million expansion project that will expand the campus and playground to a capacity of 900 students in the 2008-2009 school year.

Hidden Hills Hawks' school colors are cobalt blue and golden yellow. The school motto is “Be safe. Be kind. Work hard.” There is a strong Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and education foundation, Hawks Education Fund (HEF), committed to fundraising. This year the theme has been “Putting the Pieces Together.” A puzzle logo indicates how collective efforts all fit together for the benefit of students, staff, and community.

HHES is known for high standards for student achievement and for success in helping children to be well-rounded and productive future citizens. HHES is the top performing elementary school in SRVUSD with a 2007 growth API score of 959, meeting growth targets each year. HHES takes pride in its reputation of excellence - providing a positive, caring, and nurturing environment where students and staff are supported to do their best. The highly qualified staff is enthusiastic, energetic, and works collaboratively with parents and community volunteers to ensure that every child's needs are being met. Technology is integrated into all areas of the school from communication to data management to student research and learning. There is intervention learning support for students, on site daycare, extensive after school enrichment programs, and mental health intervention. City police provide a School Resource Office (SRO) and implements Character Counts to all grades. Student Council is in place to provide leadership opportunities for students.

HHES' diverse population is the source of many opportunities for learning more about cultures, beliefs, and customs. Parents place a high value on education and support the school's efforts to provide an exemplary learning environment providing financial support, volunteer time, committee leadership, and professional services.
